Dettingen/Erms, June 30, 2021 – Packaging machine specialist Hugo Beck is presenting its latest film and paper packaging machines at LogiMAT.digital. The new online platform enables intralogistics professionals to network until the next face-to-face event in Stuttgart in March 2022. Registered attendees can engage online and see Hugo Beck’s portfolio which is specifically tailored to current e-commerce and mail order sustainability requirements, and includes a diverse range of automation solutions.
Sustainable Paper Packaging
Hugo Beck’s paper packaging machines are ideal for e-commerce applications with their ability to automatically adjust to a diverse range of product sizes, minimizing packaging material use and providing a more efficient and sustainable service. The paper E-Com flex packaging machine provides the option of storing two paper rolls of different widths. After each product is scanned, the machine calculates the paper web width required for the shipping bag and selects one of the two paper rolls, thereby minimising material use. Both uncoated and coated, recyclable papers with a grammage of approximately 80 to 130 g/m² can be used to produce the new type of dispatch packaging, with two sewn sides plus a top overlap.
Resource-saving Film Packaging
Those companies looking to pack only with recyclable film can achieve optimum packaging results with the flexo 700 E-Com film packaging machine, both with and without shrinking of the film bags. The flexo 700 E-Com can be changed over to a new product size either between two product batches or, as an additional option, with a fully automatic adaptation to different product dimensions is available. Sustainability is enhanced with the flexo 700 E-Com using the minimum of material due to its provision of exceptionally tight bag packaging.
Being connectable to customer’s ERP or control systems both packaging solutions for film and paper are easily integrated within any production line. Additional options include the ability to add an easy-opening perforation to the dispatch packaging, as well as inserting a double-sided adhesive tape for resealing a bag for returns. An integrated scanner with a controller for product detection and creation of a shipping label can also be included on the line for additional capability.
Hybrid Machines provide total Flexibility
With the flexible machine technology of a paper X hybrid, companies have the choice of packaging goods in film or paper on just one machine. The form fill and seal machines can be easily adapted to fit any new packaging materials in around 30 to 60 minutes by means of a simple changeover. Starting from the basic model for paper packaging with overlap on top, different versions are available with the additional option of film packaging, depending on how flexible the user needs to be. The paper X E-Com machine version caters more specifically to the needs of a mail order business, tailored to automatically adapt paper packaging to different product lengths.
