Notice on data transfers to third countries with inadequate data protection and transfers to US companies without DPF certification
We use, among other things, tools from companies based in third countries that do not provide an adequate level of data protection, as well as US tools whose providers are not certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF). When these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to and processed in these countries.
Please note that in third countries with inadequate data protection, a level of data security comparable to that of the EU cannot be guaranteed.
We also note that the United States is generally considered a safe third country, providing a level of data protection comparable to that of the EU. Data transfers to the US are therefore permissible if the recipient is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF) or has implemented appropriate additional safeguards.
For information on data transfers to third countries, including details about the data recipients, please refer to this privacy policy.
Recipients of personal data
As part of our business operations, we collaborate with various external entities. In some cases, it is necessary to transfer personal data to these external parties. We only share personal data with external entities if it is required for contract fulfillment, if we are legally obligated to do so (e.g., disclosure of data to tax authorities), if we have a legitimate interest in such transfer pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, or if another legal basis permits the data transfer.
When using data processors, we only share our customers’ personal data based on a valid data processing agreement. In cases of joint processing, a joint processing agreement is concluded.
Withdrawal of your consent to data processing
Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can withdraw consent you have given previously at any time. You can do so by sending us an informal notification by e-mail. The legality of data processing carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.
Right to object to data collection in special cases and to direct advertising (Art. 21 GDPR)
If data processing is based on Article 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR, you have the right at any time to object to the processing of your personal data for reasons arising from your particular situation; this also applies to profiling based on these provisions. The respective legal basis on which processing is carried out can be found in this privacy policy. If you object, we will no longer process your affected personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims (objection pursuant to Art. 21(1) GDPR).
If your personal data is processed for direct advertising purposes, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data for such advertising; this also applies to profiling insofar as it is related to such direct advertising. If you object, your personal data will no longer be used for direct advertising purposes (objection pursuant to Art. 21(2) GDPR).
Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority
In the event of violations of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, particularly in the Member State of their habitual residence, workplace, or the place of the alleged infringement. The right to lodge a complaint exists without prejudice to other administrative or judicial remedies.
Right to data portability
You have the right to demand that data we process automatically based on your consent or in fulfilment of a contract be provided to you or a third party in a common and machine-readable format. If you request direct transfer of the data to another responsible person, this will only be done where technically feasible.
Information, correction and deletion
Within the framework of the applicable legislation, you have the right to consult, free of charge, your personal information recorded by us at any time, including the origin of this data, its recipients and the reason for having it recorded, as well as a possible right to rectification or erasure of this data. If you wish to contact us regarding this or any other personal data matters, you can contact us at any time.
Right to restriction of processing
You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. You can contact us at any time for this purpose. The right to restriction of processing applies in the following cases:
If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, such data—apart from storage—may only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims, or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person, or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or a Member State.
SSL or TLS encryption
For security reasons and to ensure secure transmission of confidential content, such as orders or requests that you send to us as the site operator, this website uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser line.
If the SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Objection to advertising emails
We hereby oppose any use of the contact details, provided as part of the obligation to publish a legal notice, for the purpose of sending advertising and information material that has not been expressly requested. The operators of the webpages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited sending of advertising information, e.g. in the form of spam e-mails.
3. Data collection on this website
Cookies
Our website uses so-called "cookies." Cookies are small data packets that do not cause any harm to your device. They are either temporarily stored for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently stored on your device (permanent cookies). Session cookies are automatically deleted after your visit ends. Permanent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or they are automatically deleted by your web browser.
Cookies can be set by us (first-party cookies) or by third-party companies (so-called third-party cookies). Third-party cookies allow the integration of certain services provided by third-party companies within websites (e.g., cookies for processing payment services).
Cookies serve different purposes. Many cookies are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them (e.g., the shopping cart function or video display). Other cookies may be used to analyze user behavior or for advertising purposes.
Cookies that are required for the execution of electronic communication processes, for providing specific functions requested by you (e.g., the shopping cart function), or for optimizing the website (e.g., cookies for measuring web traffic) are stored based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, unless another legal basis is specified. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing necessary cookies to ensure the technically flawless and optimized provision of its services. If consent for storing cookies and similar recognition technologies has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively based on this consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG); consent can be revoked at any time.
You can configure your browser to inform you about the setting of cookies, allow cookies only in specific cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are disabled, the functionality of this website may be limited.
You can find details about which cookies and services are used on this website in this privacy policy.
Google Analytics
For statistical analysis purposes, we receive information about your use of our website in order to improve our website and its functionalities. However, no personal data is transmitted or stored that could identify you as a user.
For this purpose, we use the analytics tool Google Analytics from Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google") on our website. This tool helps us analyze website traffic. Google collects various data about your visit to our website, including your IP address, a user or client ID assigned to you, your first visit to the website, clicks on links leading to a new domain, scrolling to the end of a page, video views, time spent on the website, internal searches, country and city (latitude and longitude) from which you access the website, device information (brand, model), screen resolution, browser and operating system information. Google evaluates this data to create reports that may include information on time spent on the website, approximate geographical origin, sources of visitor traffic, exit pages, and usage patterns.
The information generated by Google about your use of our website is regularly transmitted to data centers in the United States and stored there. If you use our website within the EU, the data collected by Google Analytics is first transferred to a Google data center in the EU, where the IP address and related geolocation data (latitude and longitude) are analyzed and then deleted before the dataset is transferred to other Google data centers, possibly outside the EU, for further analysis. This function ensures that personal data is anonymized before any data is stored and processed by Google Analytics, preventing Google from uniquely identifying you.
As part of Google Analytics, we also use the Google Signals extension, which enables cross-device tracking. Google uses personal data from users who are simultaneously logged into a Google service when visiting websites and have activated the "Personalized Advertising" option in their Google account settings (https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated).
Google Analytics primarily records interactions with you as a visitor using cookies. These cookies store non-personal data and are not accessible across domains in browsers. These cookies are only activated if you provide your consent in our website's cookie settings. If you do not give your consent for the use of cookies, Google Analytics will attempt to compensate for missing data through AI-based modeling using known user data.
The legal basis for processing your personal data within the scope of Google Analytics is your consent, as per Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, which we obtain through our website’s cookie settings. If you do not consent to enabling Google Analytics cookies, your personal data will not be processed in Google Analytics.
- Data Processing Agreement -
We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google and fully comply with the strict requirements of German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.
Personal data transmitted to data centers in the USA is processed by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, California 94043, and its subsidiaries as sub-processors of Google. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Privacy Framework. Based on this, an adequate level of data protection is assumed, and the transfer of personal data by Google is permissible under Article 45(1) GDPR.
- Revoking Your Consent -
You can revoke your consent to the processing of your personal data in Google Analytics at any time, with effect for the future, as follows:
- Revoke via Our Cookie Settings -
You can disable Google Analytics in our website’s cookie settings, thereby revoking your consent for processing personal data in Google Analytics.
- Disable Google Analytics via Browser Add-on -
You can disable Google Analytics by installing a browser add-on, which can be downloaded from the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. This add-on prevents Google Analytics from analyzing your personal data. However, using the browser add-on does not prevent personal data from being transmitted to our website or other web analytics services.
For more information on how Google Analytics handles personal data, please refer to Google Analytics’ privacy policy.
Server log files
The provider of the webpages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
This data is not merged with other data sources.
The collection of this data is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free display and optimization of the website – for this purpose, server log files must be recorded.
Contact form
If you send us enquiries using our contact form, the information you enter, including contact details, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing your enquiry and dealing with follow-up enquiries. We do not share this data without your consent.
The processing of this data is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, provided that your request is related to the fulfillment of a contract or is necessary for carrying out pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the efficient handling of inquiries directed to us (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) if this has been requested; consent can be revoked at any time.
The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to storage or the purpose for which the data was stored no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been processed). Mandatory legal provisions (in particular retention periods) shall remain unaffected
